FULL House for the christmas dinner - part 1 . . . . .Updated 15th December 2011

The Hall was full to bursting on Monday night as the more senior members of the Farringdon community enjoyed good company and excellent food as they came together for the Fortieth Farringdon Over Sixties Christmas Dinner.

For once, your photographer arrived on time (this may have had something to do with the availability of food and drink) to picture the hall laid out ready for the arrival of the guests.

A team of volunteers had been working throughout the day in the Hall and Kitchen to prepare for the evening.

The table decorations were in place . . .

. . . . and the Village Hall was soon buzzing with conversation as the dinner guests arrived and took their places. The speed of the service was such that Maitre d' was only visible as a blur.

With regular top ups the conversation level began to peak as more of the invited guests found their seats.

More drink anyone?

There was even time for a brief, unscheduled cabaret appearance from Catherine, much to the surprise of husband Danny.

With everybody settled down it was time for Tim to call on the Guest of Honour, Peggy Bavage (centre), to cut the 40th Anniversary Cake. . . . . . more
