FARRINGDON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY SUMMER SHOW - Updated 31st July 2011

Saturday the 30th of July and the gardeners of Farringdon were up early (well some of them) to prepare their entries for the 2011 Farringdon Horticultural Society Summer Show in the Village Hall.

A selection of the lesser known residents of Farringdon were keeping a wary eye on the Exhibitors to ensure there were no rule transgressions by the exhibitors The audience awaits

Christine Bohringer, Horticultural Society Secretary, was kept busy checking in the entries in the morning session with everybody making sure their entries were well presented and arranged for the Judges.

 With a busy day ahead , Show Steward Brian Williams was concentrating carefully on the final touches to his entries or was he taking a good look at the opposition?

Phyllis Watts, Chief Executive of the Horticultural society and Robin Baumber attempt to communicate with a vegetable person of indeterminate sex.

No record exists of the conversation but the expression on the "face" of Veggie Schryver-Butternut suggests he, or she, is not entirely happy with the quality of the seating arrangements.

 The sight of two people conversing with a vegetable has obviously cheered up the two Brians no end, but will they still be smiling after the Judges have done their rounds?
