HORTICULTURAL HAPPENINGS . . . Updated 25th January 2009
Members and dignitiaries of the Farringdon Horticultural Society ventured beyond the confines of the garden wall to enjoy a night out in one of the local hostelries. Your reporter was unfortunately otherwise engaged for the evening of the 14th but, thanks to the photographic expertise of an FHS member who requested to remain anonymous (Farringdon biz is happy to comply with Mr Baumber's request for anonymity ) , some heavily censored images of the evening have been supplied under plain wrapper to your Village web site.
It will be apparent that all the pictures released were taken before the drink began to flow so these images may not give the full flavour of the event.

At least everyone was awake at this stage anticipating the the arrival of the first dish from the Rose and Crown kitchen.
Certain sources have suggested, unfortunately the images were not available for publication at the time of writing to confirm or deny this information, that a certain party in the middle distance was observed to have nodded off briefly, obviously overcome by the excitement, although an alternative source did point out that this might have been a deliberate ploy to adjust to opening times in the antipodes in anticipation of an imminent visit to those distant shores.
Suitably fortified the Horticulturalists departed to prepare themselves for the Annual General Meeting of the Society held the following Wednesday.
