WELCOME TO FARRINGDON. . . Updated 3rd March 2007
Thanks to Salvia Goodall for supplying the pictures

Flagging a welcomeThe Family Service for February was turned into a welcoming party for Philip Dixon, the New Family Worker. Philip and his wife Jan, shown here receiving welcome flags from the children. Philip has been appointed to introduce Family Services and events in the various Parishes that make up the North Hanger Benefice.

Form an orderly line
Family Services have been a regular feature in Farringdon since 2001 and the organisation swung into gear to welcome Philip and his family to The Village.
Marshalling the congregation into line, with musical accompaniment and welcome flags at the ready, was no problem for Nicky and the regular organisers of the monthly events.
Sunday singalong
The Rt. Rev Trevor Willmott was paying a return visit to Farringdon just a month after his previous visit for the Confirmation Service in January (see news report). Sue Fyfield (left) who has been organising Farringdon Sunday School for many years was in good voice and by now you will have realised I don't have the name of the enthusiastic guitarist, to whom I offer my profuse apologies, but the regular visitor to this site has come to expect this gross incompetence from your reporter. (If anyone can supply the missing information I will be amend the report accordingly)

After the service
After the service, the Dixon Family posed for the official photograph. We welcome the Dixons to the North Hanger Benefice and and wish Philip well in his new post.

From left, Jan and Philip Dixon The Rt. Rev Trevor Wilmott, the Rev Tony Pears and in front, the junior Dixons Emily and Christian.

Many thanks to Sylvia Goodall for supplying the photographs
