BERRY COTTAGE GARDENS . . . Updated 5th May 2007

Berry CottageParking in Church Road was at a premium last Sunday (29th April) as visitors flocked to the inaugural opening of Berry Cottage Garden under the National Gardens Scheme.
Dispensing horticultural guidanceThe Resident Gardener, Phyll Watts, was on hand to provide information and offer advice and expert guidance to visitors.
Tables were at a premium in the Garden RestaurantWhat could be better on a warm spring afternoon than a Cream Tea. Not surprisingly the catering department was fully stretched throughout the afternoon and supplies were virtually exhausted by the end of the day.

It's that idiot with the camera againFrom personal experience, I can recommend the fare on offer having been provided with a sample of their offerings by one of the charming ladies dispensing tea, cream scones and a mouth watering variety of cakes and sponges from the Berry Cottage Kitchen.(I'm sure I've seen this lady before somewhere)
Tea in the eveningVisitors were still arriving half an hour before the garden closed, taking advantage of the evening sun to view the horticultural delights of the Berry Cottage Garden.
Are you looking at me?The residents of course, are entitled to special privileges and took the opportunity for a few minutes relaxation on their reserved seating at the end of a glorious day.
