NO MORE CONFUSION ON THE A32 - Updated 29th March 2009

The Highways department have finally put an end to the confusion on the A32 when the road painting team finally caught up with the signpost squad.

The forty sign painted on the road surface has now been painted over so the road decal is in line with the signed limit

The new signing certianly seem to surpise passing traffic, although in the brief period your reporter was on the verge, it was apparent that a number of local drivers were having to make a rapid speed adjustment having been conditioned to the previous '40' limit over the last few years.

Whether a passing goods vehicle vehicle or mis handling by the signpost squad was responsible one sign already look a bit second hand with one corner folded over.

At night the reflective area is very effective although the heavy braking as vehicles cross the road marking suggest a repaint will be needed in the not too distant future.

Just in case you haven't ventured south of Farringdon on the A32, be warned that the previous 50 limit through East Tisted has now been reduced to Forty, although that didn't prevent a slight coming together opposite Rotherfield Park last week. Fortunately the only injuries sustained were a couple of severely fractured wing mirrors.
